About Us

SMAC Auto Air is a family owned and operated business established in 1985 by Steve & Kim McCarthy.  Steve oversees the workshop, while Kim manages the administrative side of the business. Steve is a Registered Electrical Inspector with a strong background in refrigeration and adds to this, a wealth of experience gained in the automotive industry, having both raced and built cars for several years. 

In addition to its membership of the Motor Trade Association (MTA), SMAC is a member of Vehicle Air Conditioning Specialists of Australasia (VASA), a voluntary industry organisation. A condition of membership is participation in its continuing professional development programmes. While VASA only requires one person from each member business to take part, Steve and Kim value the training opportunities highly enough to insist that all staff participate.
